I think Eddie Guzelian (the executive producer) said he wants it to be in a different continuity than the previous seasons, but they've thrown in little hints, like a direct reference to the last season, 'Jungle Fury' (in one episode they show a Jungle Karma Pizza restaurant), so things may change. But to answer the original question, they haven't mentioned any past teams specifically yet.

One episode Dt. K mentions discovering a massive energy field that envelops the world and the suits tap into it. ie: Morphing Grid But more clues could be planted around as it is just starting.
