So why was Disney embarrassed of Power Rangers?

Disney, after the highly popular season of Time Force and during the middle of Wild Force, acquired the long running series Power Rangers, yet reports and their treatment of it during their ownership of it implied that Power Rangers was the red headed stepchild of them and considered it embarrassing to even be associated with the franchise and slashed the budget of during the middle of seasons, pushing for less violence, and threatening to cancel it almost every year for not being an "Edutainment" show, regardless of ratings or toy sales.

The final straw was during RPM, which brought a number of fans back into the series and many believed saved the franchise, was not allowed on the Disney channel and put on regular programming, at either five in the morning or later on so it'd be preempted for sports. There was even talk beforehand they wanted to make it an animated web show that they wouldn't have to put on TV.

Any reason why they held such a vendetta against them?
