Baby Crying?

After Alex spots josh on other side of the door next to the number panel, he goes in the door nex to it, then other the other, goes down the hall to the other unlocked door and we hear a baby crying. can someone explain this to me? i've been playing the game like.....10 times and still don't understand it, unless it was just a tease and meant to be creepy.
