This should win Best Picture hands down

No contest, none of the nominees comes close.

It definitely deserves to be one of the front runners. It was my favorite film of the year of the Best Picture nominees I’ve seen, but sadly, being the best film isn’t enough to win anymore...there are several quotas and political check marks you have to touch on to win any award at The Oscars now.

I mean, there’s not even a “strong, independent woman” having sex with the Creature From the Black Lagoon in The Irishman. Haha. It has no chance.

It hasn’t been winning any precursor awards either. It’s a shame.

Scorsese should have about 4 best director Oscars at this point. It’s the biggest travesty in the entire history of movie awards. Now millennial toolbags are turning on Scorsese, because his historically accurate time setting films have old, white men in the roles of people who were...well, white men, lol, and you just can’t have that in 2020. His chances of winning even a second Oscar are probably over. At least he won for The Departed before everyone became so obsessed with the race and gender of everyone who does...anything at all.

Then that would count 1917 and Once Upon a Time in Hollywood out as well.

Yep. Exactly.

Maybe.

I actually found The Irishman quite dull, and far too long. It's better than most of the nominees, but I feel the same way about Joker that you do about this film. Only 1917 comes close.
