When does this come out on DVD?
Anyone know?
shareNot yet announced, as of Jan. 3.
shareAs a rule Netflix do not release their films on DVD. The major exception to date is Roma, which has a forthcoming Criterion release, so the best hope for a future release of The Irishman is probably Criterion.
shareSeriously? That’s ridiculous. Well I don’t have netflix so is there any other way I can even see this film? I was hoping to add it to my collection
shareSo far, yes, I'm afraid. Their policy is to put their products on VERY limited cinema release - which qualifies them for awards consideration - then once released on their streaming service, keep them close to their chest so that anyone wishing to see the films has no option but to subscribe.
You could sign up for the free one month trial of Netflix and watch the film that way, but in terms of owning a physical copy of it, you may have a long wait for something which may never occur...
It lost in Golden Globes. My friend on MC hyped it up, but I skipped it in a theater once learning it was three hours. Saw it on Netflix. Not worth the time. The cinematography and tone was fine. Up to the standards of Martin Scorcese, but the story fell flat. Just get a free trial of Netflix and watch it.
shareI'm about 2 hours in and I am hooked, I think this is one of Scorcese's better ones. As far as the Pacino/De Niro match ups it's not as good as Godfather Part II (what is?), but it's probably on the same level as Heat. I don't bother with Righteous Kill, for me the trilogy is Godfather Part II, Heat, The Irishman
shareOkay, I'm glad you're enjoying it. I did the same thing on Netflix and paused it to get snacks, check email, internet, etc. Martin Scorsese is either a big hit or miss for me. I agree Heat belongs right up there with the best like Godfather trilogy. I skipped Righteous Kill. Will have to watch it when I get a chance, but it's not rated that high on IMDB.
