the ending

so, i'm a little ocnfused about the ending. did kevin left because he knows bram's family will never accept him and walked away from the relationship? cause bram's face shows disappointment. or he just gave them a space cause it's a family situation and they got back together after?

reply

My take on it is that Kevin is just walking away to allow Bram to be with his parents. Assuming Kevin is mature, he would have gotten the message that Bram decided to be with him as promised earlier in the evening.

reply

Yeah, I got that too. I love this movie. I hope to see those actors in more movies.

I also think that he didn't walk away to end the relationship. He was understanding and let Bram to be with his parents at that hard moment. He smiled to Bram quite cheerfully. Bram, a little bit dissapointed that he couldn't have both Kevin and his parents that time, responded his smile. This was short conversation without words. This is at least what I choose to believe ;)

I loved this movie and I'm glad I could watch it :)

Your "short conversation without words" is exactly spot on. Bram couldn't expect his parents to respond to Kevin at that moment, during that stressful time; Kevin understands this and leaves them alone for the time being. Their future, though is an optimistic one.

reply

Agreed. Glad that I didn't pass up the chance to see this film. Great find!

He is just giving Bram and his family the space they need during this difficult time off almost losing their son. It's a beautiful film and it's nice to see a happy ending for a change. So glad Furkan didn't carry out his plan. Love this film.

[spoilers]

I hope Furkan didn't make it. Couldn't stand that character- the little fundamentalist! He was going probably going to stab his brother and got stabbed instead lol.

reply

I'm actually curious and confused about another scene that took place before Furkan got stabbed... The one which showed Kevin being stabbed by Furkan... What was that supposed to be... ?

reply

That scene was just ment to fool the viewer, so you'd think Keving was killed, but those were actually the thoughts of Furkan. In my openion it just toke a lot of suspence away. When I realised it was just his imagination it became clear to me there was no real danger for the lovers! I actually hated that scene, nothing to do with the overal picture, I mean, cutting open Kevin's throat felt really out of place for this movie!

reply

I agree. The imagination scene where Furkan kills Kevin is horrible, confusing and does not belong to the film. The only low point in this very good movie.
I could have done with seeing the ending for the fiancee also, though.

reply

I actually felt sick with that scene, don't get me wrong I like horror movies and gore movies BUT it was so out of place, and I actually thought it was real and my heart sunk thinking that he was really killed

im glad the ending was a happy one, and they both will still be together even with family troubles

This whole scene being put in movie was mistake and poor editing, was not made to look like an imagination but real. It left the movie looking stupid in the end a real shame!
