a great 3rd movie

i got to see iron man 3 finally on blu ray today and i gotta say as far as third movies go this is one of the best installments.the acting was great and sure the mandrian wasnt exactly how he was in the comic book but we all haft to rember its 2013.loved the back story to tony and the call back to iron man 1.overall its a great start to phase 2

reply

Iron Man 3 was a great movie. maybe Thor: The Dark World will be even better :)

reply

The bar is so low for Marvel fans, that DisneyMarvel can always please.

reply

oh wow your making fun of people for having taste in different movies then you.must feel all warm and funny each day with the movies you enjoy

reply

I'm saying the bar is lower.
Marvel just has to deliver the cast and the special effects, and its fans will eat it up and swallow it. (This is common to begin with in younger fanbases)

I'm not talking about a different taste so much as a less critical fanbase. I've enjoyed several of the Marvel Studios pictures.

reply

Is there any legitimate dislike or just this fake troll hate? No one is buying it at this stage.

reply

Hey, I just met you. I know it's crazy but here are my collectible Captain America cards... sign them maybe?

reply

This sure beats X3 and Superman 15 or whatever.

reply

I wonder if the next Superman film is bad again will Affleck get the blame or will they finally suspend making those things?

reply

Well the same can be said about Hard Core DC Fanboys after watching Man of Steel. Im not even a Marvel Fan.

reply

There really is no question that this is the best third film the genre has ever produced. Honestly, it's one of the best number three films regardless of genre as well.

reply

How is there really no question ? Many people loved TDKR, which has higher critical reception as well. I loved IM3, and think it's the best of the trilogy, but I loved TDKR more, especially after seeing it a few more times. IM3 was unique and very different from the other MCU films. I'm happy the way they stripped Stark down to nothing, and showed him for what he was, a tech genius and heroic person. He did kill alot of people, which I found a bit off-putting, some of the story points were a little confusing, and it got a little hectic at the end, but I really liked the story and the performances. I just found TDKR to be a very powerful film, with great villans, and the original character Blake was so good. The fact that they actually closed the story in TDKR makes it stand alone as a true trilogy capper in comic films. We can pick them apart, and look for this fault or that, but the bottom line is how did the film make you feel ? Both were very good, if not great, and I'm happy we got both of these part 3s.

reply

Only idiots like TDKR. That just proves their are a lot of idiots in this world.

reply

Many people have brain damage as well.

reply

Tony Stark Is The Weapon NOT Iron Man = Brilliant

Who originally said that?

reply

There really is no question that this is the best third film the genre has ever produced.

My question is... who is even questioning it at this point?

I accept your surrender.

reply

Just keep saying it.

reply

No one can credibly name a better third film.

reply

I won't go so far as to say they're definitively better but I'd nominate "The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King", "Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade", "Die Hard With A Vengeance", "The Dark Knight Rises", "Return of the Jedi", and "Skyfall" as contenders against it. And personally I prefer most to all of those films.

I'm Tony Stark. I build neat stuff, got a great girl, occasionally save the world. So why can't I sleep?

"Here's a little holiday greeting I've been wanting to send to The Mandarin. I just didn't know how to phrase it until now. My name is Tony Stark and I'm not afraid of you. I know you're a coward so I've decided that you just die, pal. I'm gonna come get the body. There's no politics here, just good old fashioned revenge! There's no Pentagon, it's just you and me. On the off chance you're a man, here's my home address: 10880 Malibu Point, 90265. I'll leave the door unlocked. That's what you wanted, right?"

reply

That scene is Oscar level good.

reply

There really hasn't beena better third film.

reply

Will Thor The Dark World be as loved as this movie? Is it fair to even ask? After all, if Thor 2 beats IM2 then won't Thor 3 be better?

reply

Yes it will.

reply

Thus the quote I used.

“You can take away my suits, you can take away my home, but there's one thing you can never take away from me: I am Iron Man.” – Tony Stark

This was Tony Stark's film and that's what made it special.

reply

a great 3rd movie and a great movie.

reply

Indeed. Integrity is telling myself the truth. And honesty is telling other people what they need to hear. Such as, this is a GREAT third film.

reply

I feel sorry for the haters whatever their motivation. To miss out on a gem like this film simply because you're a fan of another franchise is so dumb and narrow minded.

reply

Best movie to ever carry a number three methinks.

reply

What were you waiting for?

Anyway, No one can say Shane Black doesn't know how to direct women. He certainly brought Pepper to life and wrote a strong female hero.

reply

Also, the Mya Hanson character was written light but at least she had an impact when she was on screen.

I accept your surrender.

reply

She served her purpose and what happened to her character was actually quite moving.

reply

My wiener tells me as much!

reply

Great with greater to follow.

reply

Solid movie, for a 3rd film of a triolgy I agree that it was outstanding.

Don't understand all the "best movie of the year!" hype, but people are entitled to their opinions.

If there's one problem with the movie, it's the fact that it has a very "been there, done that" feel to it. You're going to have that in any 3rd film of a franchise though, and I thought that the crew did a solid enough job of making 3 a unique experience from the first two movies.

I still think that Iron Man 1 is the best version, but, 3 definitely took a step forward from where 2 left off.

reply

I felt that it clearly avoided the "been there, done that" trap because it was a Tony Stark film first and an Iron Man film second. That's why everything felt so fresh.

reply

That's why I hope Kevin Fiege stays head of Marvel forever. He knows what to OK and go forward with in order to keep everything fresh.

reply

He's a company man but he's also a free thinker. Disney would be smart to stay and keep out of his way.

reply

I felt like they took what worked so well in Iron Man and even Iron Man 2 to a degree and ran with it in an extremely gratifying way with this third installment

All Marvel films seem to link well but as they release they actually add to what's come before. Example: Captain America The First Avenger added eepth to Iron Man 1 and so on.
