I'm in the minority but loved the battle system, hated the story!!!

I know I'm probably the only one to say this but I played through 'Chain of Memories' a few weeks ago and found the battle system to be very refreshing, innovative, and quite enjoyable but the story was pathetic! They completely recycled the story of the original for this one but with a few extras. I'm not joking. They literally tell the same story as the first (Aladdin makes the same wishes, Ariel follows the same sequence of events, etc.)

This game doesn't deserve to be remembered as a "sequel" because it's not. It's an expansion pack. It's basically the 'Fable: Lost Chapters" of Kingdom Hearts 1. Did anyone else feel this way?

No, I agree with you.

Yep, you were right, I agree, you are the only one to say that.

Personally I hated the cards. Having to recharge all the time, which take too long in the heat of a battle. The whole number system is innovative but gets really boring after a while and eventually I just threw out the next card in my deck all the time because I just didn't care anymore at that point. Only having Sora around to fight (except for if you found a Donald or Goofy card) made battles a lot more challenging without others at your side to aid you in battle. The battle system in the other KH were a lot better, they were easy to navigate, and was fun.

Also, the story was supposed to be like that. I don't know if you know this, but Chain of Memories was originally a Game Boy game then was re-released for PS2. The story is about Sora, Goofy, and Donald going through that castle and revisiting their memories while slowly losing their own. It would make sense to have the same stories, this is what Sora and gang went through.

And it wasn't supposed to be known as a sequel, that's why it's not called KH2.
