while i might not completely agree with everything the OP said... i do believe in the basic sense that 'global warming' is pretty much BS as you hear story's etc online that say it's mostly not true as the earth naturally does this sorts of stuff in cycles over thousands/10's of thousands of years etc etc.
either way it seems there's 'so-called' experts on both sides saying it's real and some say it's not... which i figure when factoring that in, the long term damage of the so-called 'climate change' is probably largely exaggerated in terms of the negative effects of it.
so while i am not against cutting back on pollution etc, as it just seems like a good idea in general, i think as far as 'climate change' is concerned the effects on the earth are probably exaggerated as i was saying as the earth naturally does stuff like it's doing now in cycles over the 1000's and 10's of thousands of years etc.
p.s. i am not a expert on the matter by any means but it does make you wonder that there is financial gain for people to keep pushing it in mainstream media.
and as said above... they changed the saying from 'global warming' (since i don't think it's really warming up anymore and some say it might even be cooling now?) to 'climate change'... which does make you wonder if there's more to it than they tell us ;) (i.e. all BS just so some people can profit etc etc from it)
bottom line... 'climate change' is pretty much BS. for sure at least in the sense that WE (i.e. us humans) have any real effect on it in the long run.
also... no offense to anyone in here but this is my opinion.
EDIT: go watch Season 1 Episode 3 of a show called 'Conspiracy Theory with Jesse Ventura' which talks about this 'global warming/climate change' stuff and you tell me what's going on ;) which basically sums it up in that 'the powers that be' are basically pushing this 'climate change' thing for power/financial gain etc.

Surely I would have thought that ideology, of being open to new ideas, progress etc. would be a good thing? Martin Luther was a liberal who kick-started Protestantism; Or for that matter Martin Luther King was a liberal who preached equality. Would they be painted as socialist lefties out to line their own pockets if they lived in America today?
But regarding climate change, even if the overwhelming majority of scientists, governments, and even now the oil companies are all wrong and that humanity isn't having an effect on the climate, we STILL only have enough oil left for about another 50 years at current consumption levels. NO-ONE with any sense disputes this.
So argue about the 'how' all you want, the fact remains that we HAVE to change our ways or else be stuck with relying on foreign countries for energy, and then just being straight-up screwed when that runs out. It is possible, and carbon tax is one possibility, but would you rather pay for research into cleaner tech, or be stuck with no energy to power the air-con when you're that little bit older and more frail?
