Saw It ... it's GREAT!

Hey Guys, Saw this flick at a screening, and I have to say I LOVED it!
Now, my expectations were kind of low, knowing it was a relatively low
budget, but it never felt low budget to me. The FX were amazing ... but
more than anything I was taken by the story. It's complex and
interesting and makes you think - while you're glad to be experiencing
the exciting action and several funny moments as well. The performances were really good as well, especially for films of this type. Christopher Shand should be a huge star as far as I'm concerned. Nora Kirkpatrick is natural, beautiful and funny. Brian Krause is strong, consistent and good looking, and Mircea Monroe should be the new scream queen of the world. I'd give it a7-8 out of 10. I highly recommend it! If you're into these kinds of films ... as I am ... you will put it at the top of your DVD goto
shelf!

You must be easy pleased putting stuff on your DVD shelf. Personally I would not contaminate my dustbin with this garbage. 1* is a huge misrepresentaion of how bad this film truly is. Acting is pitiful the script makes no sense at all and the actions of the characters seems a bit unrealistic to say the least.
Surely if this plague of parasites had hit the island they would take rudimentary precations if 20 years later a body turned up riddled with the things. Also when shooting one of the hosts with a big gun and seeing nothing happened it seems odd to me to throw said gun down and attack the host with your fists thinking you would fare better.
And when surrounded with a bunch of heavily armed dead bodies in a field who had been wiped out by a single host I seriously doubt gaffer taping my trouser legs up would be the most useful use of my time.
The plot was not full of holes it was one big hole.
Not only was the ending stupid but the beginning and the middle were idiotic too. I smell sequel of course and maybe it's a trilogy waiting to happen.
Feast was a much better low budget trilogy funny and even scary. This had neither humour nor thrills and was nothing but one big load.
I have had more entertaining bouts of dihorrea than watching this drivel.
It's on sale in my local ASDA at a tenner and it's so bad it's not worth even shoplifting it unless you needed a DVD case for a disc or something.

It was pretty good for a classical-styled horror, it is low budget, but effects are ok. You mistakenly assume that horror has to be realistic - it is a more complex genre with more complex elements to it that plain "I'd go to a gun store, take all guns and then barricade myself in a food storage with autonomous generator". Like any fiction, it engages imagination, which is at odds with logic and common sense. The fight scene you're mentioning is there to show us the abilities of a host in a fight for example, not to show how one should fight for real. It doesn't need to make sense beyond that. Same thing for the doctor's death - the idea is that he too is dispensable, like he gets this girl killed, so does he too get killed... etc etc

Chill out, stop thinking to much, be quiet, this is a well good film. You're taking it too seriously it's not trying to be one of the greats.

Rose, I think you're too stoned. This thing is trying- trying to be one of the great turds of all time, and it's succeeding.

You must be a promoter. Don't buy this or rent it. I just saw it is available for free downloading but in the end if you like it, do buy it.

reply

The movie wasn't good at all. The worst movie i have seen in 2010. I also think that you are a promoter, because i wouldn't recommend it for anyone.
I could have done a much better story and with better actors.
Even the FX sucks.

The worst movie in 2010? Jeez, people on this board are ruthless. It was much better than the shlock on the sci-fi channel. Pretty good low-budget effort. A lot better than I thought it would be based on some of what I read here.

The best scene was when that dude shot the other man. And the ending.

One of the most blatant lies I've seen posted here.

It's EXACTLY like a Sy Fy Channel film.

I love this line from the OP:

"Brian Krause is strong, consistent and good looking."

Fag.

To be fair, the OP is a woman. She's clearly a shill. It's not a modeling contest. It's a film. Well, barely.

I saw the preview and it looks so much better than the movie Slither!! they should've used Linkin Park's song "Crawling" as part of the soundtrack

http://www.imdb.com/name/nm2086258/ That's a coincidence, there's someone also called Samantha Yonack on the cast list of this film. What are the odds!

The movie was pretty good. I liked it. It's not a waste of time

How much did Lionsgate pay you to post that? The best thing about this movie is that the 'Jump to Conclusions mat' guy from Office Space is in it.

Sorry to all who posted "the best moment is..." , but the best moment is the end credits. Then we know that it's finally over and the pain can stop.
