Any good?

Any good? Real reviews, not people who post fake reviews like other posters here with only 1 post to his name (praising the film).

No it is utterly Godawful from beginning to end.
You would spend 90 minutes more profitably by sitting staring at a wall rather than watching this drivel.
Why is it that the vast majority of DVD releases nowadays are made up of pointless cr#p like this.
True you get the odd gem like Pontypool or Feast or Colin but mostly garbage like Growth. They sound good when you read the cover but turn out to be complate stool water.

I enjoyed it. I have seen much worse films. The chick in it was hot also. I have watched over 500 films since last November, and I can say, I didn't have any problems getting through this.

reply

"the chick in it was hot"

Is this why enjoyed? Hell, there's lotsa porn around.

And so you made that post for what reason exactly?

reply

If the only redeeming quality of a film is a "hot chick" in it, I certainly don't want to see it.

I find both your statements rather superfluous, much like the statements about this being the worst film ever made are nothing more then hyperbole. Honestly, I find it tedious that people can't be more discrete about their postings.

reply

Considering your "review" on Lady in the Water by M.Night Shamalamalon:

"I won't bother to write a review of this movie, nor will I rate it against other films. This isn't a movie that should be judged according to some rating system or reviewed; it would be similar to reviewing the Bible."

You either must be trolling, or just a complete nitwit.

I haven't seen this movie yet, but your comments are seriously pushing me towards keeping it that way. Your posts said absolutely nothing about the merits of this film. Great you watched 200 movies, great there's a hot chick in it. What's that actually say about the film? Absolutely nothing.

Instead of addressing what people's response to you were, you try and discredit them. I found it tedious how many large words you used to say absolutely nothing.

reply

The film is a mess. I had high hopes for this but no, this film just does not deliver in any way. I predict this to hit the dollar bin at the video store in about 3 months. Neither the story or the tension are any good. The film just doesn't seem to get anything right. This is just my opinion, so take it for what it is.

I don't need to address other peoples responses just like I don't need to bother myself with you.

Who gives a s*^t about your vote history? He didn't say that the only redeeming quality was a hot chick, He said he enjoyed it and that the chick was hot too. What a ignorant f^%ktard you are Sir

Your teenage angst is totally misplaced here. I'm not your unlucky parent, next time try and think before you write - make comments such as this to your mother.

Just watched this flick, and am surprised at all the posts claiming it's bad. This was a very intense, scary, well-acted story (with the exception of "Mason," who I thought was way too B-movie style over-the-top). I think the movie achieved exactly what it set out to, and on those merits I'd say it deserves high marks. Now, individual viewers are, of course, going to have different tastes, and I'm not just talking about genre, I'm talking about the level of satisfaction recieved from where the story goes, who lives and dies, is there a happy ending or a sad one, is it complete or open to additional storytelling, and so forth.

Depending on those tastes, some might like this movie, and some might hate it. But was it "bad?" Certainly not.

The middle portion of this post contains some spoilers...

This movie was extremely sad and tragic, and made no apologies for being such. Personally, that's not my favorite cup of tea (I'm a sucker for a happy ending), but at least it was obvious from the beginning that there was really only one possible outcome in the end, so it wasn't a shock, and the resolution fit the mood, theme, and premise.

Were there elements I found unsettling or annoying? Sure, the greatest of which was the protagonist's final actions that, clearly noble in her eyes, seemed to me very foolish and counter-productive (did she really believe anyone would think to look inside the doll when they picked up the baby? I was aghast that she didn't use her walkie to tell someone she had the cure, and where it could be found).

Still, overall, there was quality here, and an everpresent sense of fear and unease. That's not an easy thing to pull off, and I'm not so full of my myself that I can't admit I was impressed with that element. There were ups and downs, things I didn't like, and others that I did. In the end, I felt satisfied with what I'd watched, even if it didn't go the way my preferences and sensibilities would have wanted it to. Simply put, it was a good movie. Whether it would appeal to everyone is another matter entirely. It's really a matter of individual taste and preference, but I'd say it's worth taking the gamble and finding out if it's for you.

reply

agreed, the movie has flaws, but it was def very watchable.
maybe not a replay, but at least a first time.

Wow, my teenage angst vs your ignorant vile nature, I win hands down.. Seriously though, I am more then just a bit past being a teenager, having angst is part of my charm as it is and my parents? Motherf&^ker, do you honestly believe that your attempt to belittle me and then have me analyze the way I talk to my mother as a guideline for how to talk to others would have any effect? My mom would bi%ch slap your face on principle. Oh and your thankfully right, your not my parent, thankfully for the world your no ones parent.

Since you're well past being a teen, you're beyond any help anyway. No need to talk to me, or your parents who are hell bent on violence anyway. Just go lock yourself in a toilet room and produce excrements there, no need to excrete on a public board in front of all people. You look so dumb. So long.

No

Think of the worst movie you ever saw. Growth is worse than that. Yes, it's that bad.

reply

Haha, were we watching the same movie? If this is worst movie you've ever seen, you probably haven't seen that many, as the saying goes around here on imdb.

Yeah the creature CGI was bad, but other than that it was a pretty good killer bug movie... worth a look if you're into the genre for sure...

Crap, waste of time and money. Don't watch it, it's not even a Bad Movie, it's just plainly poor and boring.

reply

It's about a 3,5/10.

Some of the gore effects were decent, and the acting is OK. However, the movie is about 1,5 hours long, and nothing really happens until the last 30 minutes. Everything up until that is a very boring build-up. Also, there's a plot in there somewhere about an antidote to the parasitic infection that doesn't really make any sense. And there are very, very few suspense/frightening scenes that actually deliver. All in all, a valiant effort, but a miss.

This movie was amazing. Trust me just see it, you won't regret it.

You will die laughing. xD

reply

It was wierd, some parts the cgi was good, then the next minute there was guys getting thrown against trees and doing a low budget fall down dead with no blood or wounds. Most of the budget must have been spent on the cgi parasites. Worth a watch, it's kinda like a low budget 'Slither'. I've seen much worse films with higher ratings so take from that what you will :D

reply

Its a sci-fi B movie and thats all really, but I enjoyed it for what it was none of the actors were usual horror movie annoying and the effects were good for a low budget flick.

Worth a rental definately.

Pure garbage. Why would anyone want to live on a island that was infected with parasites before. Another thing if the island was bleached wouldn't it still be toxic for life even after 20 years.
