No, not because of that. There is a flashback type scene which contains a character from Thaw
sharewhich character? there isn't any actors or character names
that compare between the two movies.
I have seen Growth, but not The Thaw.
but have read the very long plot on Wiki,
and don't anything that would be linked.
The Thaw had prehistoric parasites and Growth has engineered parasites
