Why do all the friends of actors, actors, directors ...etc try to vote this movie up? Can anyone legitimately believe somebody thought this movie was a timeless classic deserving 10 out of 10? I gave it a 1, worst movie in the world, glad I didn't pay to see it.
shareI f_cking hate it when film-makers and their friends do this. Its fraud. See Dance Of The Dead - same few people putting fake reviews on everyday. I watched it and it was one of the worst films id ever seen, then they got me banned from posting negative things about the film in their boards. IMDB doesnt work.

shareWell I aquired it and wish I'd not bothered. It's awful, just awful. Not scary at all to be considered a horror, too cheesy to be amusingly bad. Avoid at all costs. I gave it 1/10 because I couldn't give it zero. Bad acting, bad script, in fact the only positive thing to say about this movie is that it only runs for around 80 minutes.
This isn't entertainment, it's the kinda movie you watch late at night cuz there's nothing else to watch but you can't be bothered to go to bed yet. It's so bad you fall asleep on the sofa and wake up forgetting what it was you were watching.
Did I mention how bad it was? I don't think I've ever seen a movie this bad before.

Dance of the Dead wasn't bad at all. That film doesn't need people to vote it up. It already have hordes of zombie fans giving good scores.

The great thing about Dance of the Dead, is that it's a film that doesn't try very hard nor does it try to be something it's not. It's a cute, well made, cheesy, cheap. If you don't like that, move along. I just get annoyed because igorant people like yourself say that if dance of the dead got an 8, it must be because someone is cheating. shareI dont know about Dance of the Dead cause i havent seen it.. This movie though was CRAP an made exclusively by Hugh Hefner's people to show his bunny girlfriends.. All of them were playboy bunnies, two of whom play in the Playboy mansion.. that says it all. Maybe the 8 was given by lonely boys who cant get enough of boobs on tv. Crap, crap, crap..
shareThis is something that is begining to make imdb ratings lose credibility. You can almost guarantee the first few votes of any smaller or independant film are by the staff on the film. Birthrite was another. I'm not saying that everyone that rates what I think is an obviously awful and badly acted film is on the staff but it's getting to the point where I am suspicious of any early posts now.
Unfortuantely there is nothing imdb can do to stop it.

on the other hand, i was gonna "aquire" this movie myself...glad i checked the board cause it sounds awful. anyone have an example of why though? not disputing just have no idea what it's about.
Well, since no one answered your question (though you probably have the answer by now, as it's been about three and a half years since you posted in this thread), I'll try to give you an example, in case you haven't gotten an answer elsewhere.
Let's see, one example of why this is so bad, is that a bunch of "Pretty girls," I guess you'd call them, belong to this uber-elitist sorority. The women who play them don't seem to have to delve very far into their parts, as they seem to be as brainless as their characters. They sound like a bunch of 80's Valley Girls with the way they speak, and the film is basically about these girls hosting a "Greek Week" Pledge Drive. They bring in three girls who very obviously don't "make the cut" in looks, according to the sorority girls, and demand that the pledges "tell [them] a scary story." So, the first pledge tells about a girl who wanted in to a sorority, but was blackballed, and went crazy and killed herself in the pool house. The second (and I did enjoy this story) pledge told a story about a washed up (young, [yawn] still hot actress) who can't get a role to save her life (remember that phrase), so she agrees to take a movie role that is considered the "last act on earth." She goes to Transylvania (I think), and meets the director, and the rest of the crew, and it turns out that they're all "the Undead." They drug her, and tie her up (yawn), and begin filming. She wakes up, chained to a metal gurney, and a big "scary" guy approaches her with a handsaw. I'm guessing that what was supposed to make this scary for the audience is that all of her "actions, and reactions" are "real" and so make the film more special. Because of all of this, she is now part of the Undead crew, herself, and will "live forever."
So, yeah, there's a couple of examples.
Oh, and to everyone using the word, "aquire," I hope you all have been putting it in quotation marks because you know it's spelled wrong. The proper spelling is, "acquire." Sorry, but improper spelling really gets under my skin.
you got banned because you are full of poop, 'dance of the dead' is in fact, a well liked and received movie in the genre circuit so the positive reviews there are genuine you nob. just because you don't like something doesn't mean nobody else does.
you might be right on this film, because the only reason i checked this imdb out is because i do know one of the producers and wanted to see how awful the film would be.
it's not the worst movie in the world...try watching other movies be4 you say that.
shareExactly...these people who complain that this movie is the "worst in the world" really haven't seen much terrible movies in their short lifetime, let alone "foreign" films. We get that this film has its haters but, if you don't like it, get lost and watch one of the mainstream blockbusters I bet you will enjoy.
