Oh boy... another Ghostbusters fiasco.

No one is outraged at women, the outrage is at the stupidity of Hollywood condescending to both men and women as if the audience is filled with morons. Women deserve an original movie not some cheap remake of a male movie where they simply swap actresses for the actors... The whole thing is ridiculous and just reinforces the belief that Hollywood is too damn lazy to bother with creating an original story. They have to just pull one off the shelf and then swap genders or race or sexuality as if doing that will suddenly make it original. Pretty much like when they remade overboard and gave us a two for one change not only did they swap the genders of the two lead roles they also tweaked the ethnicity... Oh wow, so original. People don't enjoy watching the same movie over and over, and simply swapping genders doesn't suddenly result in a new take on the old movie.

If you want to make a remake it should happen because you can make the movie better than it was originally.. I understand remaking an old silent film because now you have sound and color... but what you have now in Hollywood has nothing to do with remaking a film to make it better. I don't even think they did this remake with women to cater to women or SJWs... They did it because they were too damned lazy to come up with a fresh take on the original. They could have simply taken the previous version in a much more bawdy direction, could have twisted it where the con-artists were trying to marry and kill the victim to get the money... anything new.... but no... They just change the genders and then pretty much rehash the same jokes. You have Steve Martin playing the imbecile in a con... so now they do it with Rebel Wilson... why? It's bad enough when a movie doesn't even try to improve on the original, but to recycle the same damn jokes is just an insult to the viewer.... So you are half right I am outraged... but it is directed at the laziness of Hollywood.
