Come on people: The first ghost is....

The first ghost is HER FATHER

The Shane West's character could be her father, that's why he ask to forgive, he saved the boyfriend, he saved her from killig, and when he thinks the angel is an evil prescence, he protect her.

Then she understand who is he, and stay in peace with him.

I think is very brave from the filmaker shows the posibility to obtain forgiveness to everybody. Even with the worst crime if the regret is honest.

The first presence is a ghost, the second is a demon.

I don't know about that but what I do know is I hope your first language isn't English. Your use is atrocious.

reply

The non speaking ghost was her father(young version). He felt remorse and saved his daughter and her fiance, therefore the black angel took him to heaven and his soul was saved.

reply

"Your use is atrocious."

Usage?

Glass houses and all that.

Of course it isn't, welcome to the internets. How many languages do you know *beep*

Clearly it isn't, welcome to the internets - where movie lovers from all over the earth come. But more importantly just how many languages do you know a**hole?

zoso, nice to hide behind the anonymity of the internet. anyone can post and anyone can hide.

"Your use is atrocious." This is not a properly formed sentence.
"I don't know about that but what I do know is I hope your first language isn't English." This is also a poorly formed sentence.
You should not be so quick to judge others.

I feel proud of people here defending the OP haha. I didn't even notice anything incorrect about the OP's words actually even if there are.

He was not her father. He is a man who was in the run for murder. Look at the newspaper clipping. He dies on there and is seeking redemption. The demon is trying to get his soul and unbeknownst to him the angel is also.

reply

He is definitely her father, my reasons, as follows.....1. He so earnestly asked her to forgive him. 2. He looked back at her, as if for an okay before going into the light, she sort of nods and is crying. I don't think she would behave that way toward a stranger. 3. The man in black (demonic presence) says to him at one point, when referring to her boyfriend "or he can take your place". I guess that was to remind him of his sins. I think the clipping about convict drowning in lake was a "red-herring", and could possibly be the presence on the boat.

It was very obvious to me that the Quiet Ghost's "I'm sorry" was his apology for conking her BF on the noggin and causing that immediate life-or-death situation. It was the red-headed not-step-father demon who was able to quote her POS father & what was done to him word-for-word.

I could not determine from the film whether the grandmother who owned the island was her father's mother or mother's mother. Unless I missed something, it's only a 50-50 chance his family had history with the island other than his marriage. Because it was her safe haven, that seems to make it less likely it is connected to his side of the family. Since there were 500 people at his funeral, that was obviously elsewhere. If it wasn't his family's island, why on earth would he end up trapped in the cabin?

Earlier in the flick, Quiet Ghost was obviously curious about and fond of her. That's apparent in the scene in which she wakes and he is lying on the bed facing her. Had it been her god-awful father, he would have been leering when she undressed, not staring at her while she slept.

If there was any connection to her father, I wonder if the nasty entity had whispered lewd things about the daughter to him, or might have possessed him. The demon could have been into her for much longer, causing him to follow her to the island. Tricking a trapped soul would have been a bonus.

If an escaped prisoner had hidden in the house before drowning trying to get away, being trapped in the cabin he hid in would seem like an appropriate form of purgatory for whatever crimes/sins he had committed. His age and attire would seem about right for that, too.

that's what i thought

If the Quiet Ghost was her father then why would the angel take him to Heaven? You honestly think a simple "I'm sorry." can undo the torment and anguish she was put through. That sorry can fix it, that it can cleanse his soul to allow him to go with the big angel? If you do I sure as hell wouldn't want to go to your heaven. Sure someone can be forgiven but that in no way absolves them of their sin.
