This clumsy dork constantly spewing stupid drivel is supposed to be humorous? I really like the rest of the characters, but as far as I'm concerned, Des cheapens what is otherwise a great series. He's not funny, just embarrassingly stupid.

He's not implausible when you consider the characters and concept of the show. And, just for the record, he is supposed to be annoying, that's the idea, so I guess the writers are doing their job.

I think the idea is probably for him to be annoying to the other characters and not to the audience.
I could have sworn he started out as a more realistic character. Fingers crossed that they give him more to do this season.
I take that back, even since they introduced Sloan She is a thousand times more obnoxious than Des.
Maybe they're trying to make Des seem likable by comparison?

Agree with you 100% about Sloan! I just hope that my worst fears about the Sloan storyline will not be confirmed.

I actually like Des. I think he was meant to be a geeky character whom you sometimes find funny and sometimes annoying.
I know a guy who is a lot like him, and he cracks me up and gets on my nerves at the same time.
I couldn't agree more. His acting is over-the-top annoying. In real life, I wouldn't put up with a guy like him for thirty minutes.
