Thanks for six good years!

No episode comments--don't wanna spoil anything for anyone.

Disappointing honestly, no closure, nothing big happened, wasn't any different than a normal Doyle episode other than the last few minutes

This whole seasons it was good drama but at the same time that light drama and fun episodes went out the window when each episode you had to worry about that ongoing problem for Jake. That made the the season anoying for me.

Plus the cops side of thing was the most anoying thing. Like Leslie never ask the right questions back at the cops or the right response back to them. She just accepts what ever they or the dn therapist says. They have no right to tell you who not to date if they tell you to stop investigating something you got to ask why and if they don't respond take it as a sign of corrupt. Ep 8 and onward that bald arrogant aggressive detective was so obvious even within the show it was too anoying.

Basically this season was a reverse deus ex machina for everything bad can happen will happen.

But it's good moments. Des keeping it funny and the weekly case keeping your mind off the bigger problem which was good. And those case were still like the old ones fun and not just. A simple murder case.

Last 3 ep with Tinny and Des was out of nowhere another thing part of the reverse deus ex machina.

But thank God the last few minutes of the show and that twist good end made up for that. Other wise I would of been pissed.
I liked how at first you think Jake and Leslie are getting married but nope its Des and Tinny. That was needed for them.
I do wish Jake and Leslie also had a little more time for them selves then they got, because ever since Leslie broke off the best thing she had with Jake last season hey hardly had any time for themselves. The time they did have was always during cases and on a rush. They probably had time off screen but that doesn't mean much to the math of the story.
However the twins they had and another kid on the way gives us a very good implied happiness they have and help viewers with the projected future.

I'm gonna miss the Doyle's man this series as a whole was really fun. I liked the family who worked together. Des was the man!

Yeah, 6 great seasons... I think they wrapped it up nicely. No spoilers so I'll leave it there.

It's too bad this couldn't keep going but if they are out of ideas there's no reason to run it into the ground.

I loved the wrap-up....... a plausible ending with Tinny and Des getting married (two years later) and Lesley with twins and one in the oven. Watching Hawco and Pellerin in interviews has one wondering a lot. Those two seem unable to hide their chemistry, nor try to. I know, Hawco is married but that never stopped anyone from anything.

I DO like that the decision to end the show, as well as HOW to end the show, came from Hawco.

Not enough buildup. Carly Pope was unconvincing as a villain/undercover cop while John Kapelos's character was undeveloped as he was suddenly introduced in the third last episode whereas Gordon Pinsent had been causing Jake grief since season one.

What characters they bring back isn't always within the show's control though. Rumour has it Pinsent has been taking time off lately, so it wouldn't matter how long Becker had been causing Jake grief if they just couldn't get the actor to come to Newfoundland. (Although I admit that's purely rumour, I have no idea if they asked him to come back).

They did a pretty good round robin of past characters in this season though. A couple of notable exceptions (Pinsent, Gross, etc.) but they got Shawn Doyle, Alan Doyle, Scott Grimes, Andy Jones, Mary Walsh, Greg Malone, Aiden Flynn, Rachel Wilson, Krista Bridges, Sean Panting, Mark Critch, Shaun Majumder, Joel Hynes, Michelle Nolden, Jason Gray-Stanford and Jonathan Goad. That's damn impressive.

IDK I called Carly Pope as 'Undercover Cop' in the 2nd or 3rd episode

My issue with Kapelos, wasn't anything about his character specifically as I took issue with several facets of Leslie's-issues sub-Plot... we have Henstridge pop up as new Boss, then the Creepy Shrink, who appeared to want to seduce Leslie away from Jake, only to have that implied Arc aborted in 3? lines of her telling him off, and then in the home stretch Kapelos shows up (we never see Henstridge again do we?)
-- it just felt too convoluted... had they gone with ONE new cop character (an alumni from Flashpoint or Continuum?) as her corrupt Boss and have them as a full season Antagonist fulfilling 90% of the 3 aforementioned characters... I think the reveal would have been more satisfying

beyond that I would not be totally shocked if 'Damon Rhodes' was originally written to be Maurice Becker, but do to actor availability they re-wrote him... I seem to recall the first time they name checked him, Jake reacted in a way that indicated he knew who Rhodes was... yet the 2 part Finale was his only appearance...

and really season six was only missing Pinset, Gross, Campbell and Garber from the usual suspects... with Pinset's Becker being the one who when last we saw would be so vile as to occupy that role

-- Poole and Steele were more comedic/personal antagonists to Mal and Jake
-- Crocker when last we saw, cast doubt on his criminality, and as Tinny's dad would not be that dispicable

Another thing is Milhaven prison has been closed over a year ago so all the mobsters, bikers and serial killers have been scattered across Federal prisons all over the country.

I can't believe I only discovered this a couple of weeks ago! Thanks to them all for a great run, just wish it had been longer

I guess at least this way I haven't had to wait ages for the next season.
Can't wait for the film!

One of my favorite shows ever but they really tanked the last season. Especially with having less episodes.
