Jesus is everyone on the listener gonna be on this show?

It's funny because in the episode where Jake and mal go fishing one of the gun men was oz from the listener (forgot his name sorry) then when Jake is a prisoner at the University one of the robbers was Craig (plays Toby on the listener) just funny is all

Just about every episode they fly in guest stars from Toronto care of Tina Gerussi. But they ignore great talent in the Maritimes such as the cast of the Trailer Park Boys.

check out TVTropes.org... and search "only so many Canadian actors"

it'll explain why this happens, not only to 'Doyle' but just about any series which films in Canada

You got a good point, I'm watching this show on Netflix I even noticed that the girl who played oliva on the listener was on there, same with Russell Crowe which really surprised me. I also heard yannick was gonna be on the show whichh will be cool to watch

Actually Alan Hawko played one of Jake's ancestors in Murdoch Mysteries starring Yannick Bisson. But I heard no word of Murdoch jumping in a time machine to visit present day Newfoundland.

Well, it wasn't a time machine, but William Murdoch's descendant Bill did show up on Doyle eventually...

There's even more crossovers between Murdoch and The Listener because Shaftesbury TV produces both of them.

Russell Crowe was actually a happy accident...

If I recall Alan Doyle, the guy who plays Wolf (the big dude on Crowe's Team) is Buddies with Hawco, and had worked with Crowe on his Robin Hood Movie... during some down time on the film he talked up the show

I forget if they stopped by the set for filming, or Crowe saw the show on TV and liked what he saw, so they threw out a casual 'hey, want to guest star?" and he agreed.

I had to do a Triple take the first time I saw Crowe's episode... as I never expected to such a high 'ranked' Film actor pop up on a Canadian 'Cop Show'
