Hammer Return To Form!

I have just watched Wake Wood and loved it! It was a real chiller, pleasingly original (no foul mouthed teens here!) and held my attention right to the end.

As a lifelong fan of the Hammer films, I am pleased to say that the studio has returned to form magnificently with this movie. Let us hope that they will continue to produce similarly excellent films, just as they used to back in the sixties and seventies.

Looking forward to seeing Christopher Lee in The Tenant!

Agree wholeheartedly. Wake Wood was very good indeed and so was Let Me In. One shouldn't pretend that they have much connection to the old Hammer Films, but new owners and film makers can take things in intersting directions. I'm looking forward to The Woman In Black, due out in October this year. Not sure The Resident is much cop, from some of the comments I've read, though. Not seen it myself yet.

Don't cheese me off.I'm running out of places to hide the bodies.

I fail to see how this is a hammer film, everything about is just wrong.

I wouldn't say it's that original. The plot was very much like that of Pet Sematary, with the setting of The Wicker Man, and a touch of Don't Look Now.

I personally didn't care for it. The premise was intriguing at first, but the awkward, cheap filming style and the stupidity of the characters got on my nerves after a while, and by the end I was just wanting it to be over already.

Also, is this even really a Hammer film? I know they're promoting it as one, but I didn't see their name on the film itself, which leads me to believe it was made independently and bought up by Hammer.
