Good film, good acting

This is a really good film and its nice to see so many welsh actors in a movie about a possibly mythical welsh character (Merlin) and also shot in Wales. The photography was beautiful and loved the shots of the North Wales mountains. Too many American and English productions have been made about Merlin and Arthur but not many by their own people (the Welsh). Not many films concentrate on the early life of Merlin and its nice to see one that does. Im my opinion the best upcoming actor was Carys Eleri who gave a really good performance as Lady Vivianne as the spirit associated with the lake, and not only that she is also very hot! Hope to see her in more movies soon. A note to non Welsh/Celtic viewers however who are not accustomed to Celtic folklore as they may find the film a bit strange and if so, go read "The Mabinogion" which will really blow your mind. This film was obviously not made on a very large budget but nevertheless this was made up for by the good script, acting and magical atmosphere. The dragons looked realistic as you don't need a large budget these days to give reasonable special effects with the use of computer animation.

Okay, for crying out loud now... do you REALLY think Asylum is trying to swindle people into thinking they're renting another low budget made-for-tv film (From the BBC nonetheless)? Most people who are going to grab this movie up at their local video rental in America are just going to see a big ol' dragon on it and bank on that decision. Not that it looks slightly similar in subject to a BBC production. Side note- not everyone who takes a fleeting interest in one of these productions is a shill for Asylum. That is getting quite old. We know it makes you feel special to throw out baseless accusations in a swarmy manner, but we all get it. We all know of Asylum's "trickery" and don't need yet another post of someone stopping the presses to break the news of the inner operations of the Asylum business model with examples of the similarities between Asylum titles and larger productions. Let it be, my friend.

Actually caseman, we download our movies in America.

Did you think this movie was decent, caseman?

I agree with you Simon. It is nice to see the legend and Myth of Merlin or Merddyn brought back to Celtic Wales. The scenery of the North Wales mountains complimented this film. OK, yes, a low budget film and not a lot of time to complete.. but all in all, a nice movie about good Vs Evil.
The welsh actors su[pported Jurgen very well and yes, Carys did a good job , so did Dylan Jones ( Uther) , Simon who played Merlin... all to tell the truth!... I'm sure there room for a sequel and lets hope the Asylum up the budget on the next one... Could be interesting!

I also enjoyed the horse scenes, as I'm an avid rider myself. It would be nice to see more from this team.

Highly recomended if you enjoy fantasy films to relax and have fun.

This movie was terrible, no redeeming features. Terrible acting, crass dialogue to the point I felt like vomiting, crap action sequences, lousy CGI, clean swords during swordfights.

1 star would be giving it praise. I should be paid £50 to watch the movie

Are you serious? I couldn't make it past the first 15 minutes of this film. I skipped to the end and just laughed. The locations might be beautiful but the acting was really poor and so were the special effects. I get it though, it's low budget but still.

Don't be such an Arse... could you do better?? If so prove it!!.. and if not .. give possitive praise not bad!

That's a stupid comment, info-11159. I'm about to watch this and, by no means, does this look like a good film, just mindless entertainment. I saw the trailer on iTunes, and must say, the locations look great, however, the story looks medicore, and the swords seem like replicas from The Lord of the Rings -- Excalibur looks like Glamdring (Gandalf's sword). So, I'm going into this with an open-mind, knowing this could be worse than I expect, or better.

What's clear is, your comment lacks sense info-11159. Peace.

to be serious... if you knew how long they took to film the feature and how much money was involved , you'd see it in a different light! I say well done to all involved!

I suppose it's better to say nothing than something bad, as my wife used to say.

I agree ... a good film with nice local acting and scenery... makes for a good package indeed.

I also liked the horse scenes and the way " Uther" was played.

Looking forward to seeing the next installment!!

Nicely put. I also liked the movie a lot and agree 100% Carys Eleri is very sexy! Shame these actors haven't continued to progress in Hollywood...
