Missed the last 5 minutes at a sceening!

Can someone please tell me what happened in the final moments (about5 min) of the film? I went to a matinee the other day and somehow nodded off (not that it was boring - to say the opposite! - I was just bushed); from the scene after Douglas has left his hospital room & is back at his place making coffee until the very final frames (him sitting on the campus bench - this is all what I missed!)
Thank you!

Sorry if this isn't very detailed, or I miss something. But pretty much what happens is that Douglas goes to his alma mater and sits on that bench again, facing the library. Then his ex-wife (Susan Sarandon) comes and sits down by him. They talk for a couple of minutes about what he's going to do with his life from here on out, and she tells him that he can either stay there and continue his life the way he has been, or he can come back to the city with her. Then she tells him that she'll give him a couple of minutes to decide what he's going to do. She goes and sits in her car, and the camera flashes from her to Douglas. Sarandon smiles at him. Then, a pretty lady walks by the bench Douglas is sitting on, and he very obviously checks her out. Then he sits there for a minute, deciding what he's going to do, if he's going to go with his wife, or if he's going to continue life the way he has been and chase after the young woman who walked by. Then, he stands up. The credits roll. So I guess in the end you're supposed to decide what you think he did. Did he go chase after the young woman or go with his ex-wife who he maybe still loves? I believe that he went with his wife.

Thanks Jennie! Yeah sounds like he is doing the 'right thing' since that was the purpose for pretty much the entire film

You're welcome. :) Yeah, I didn't think of it that way, but he actually was trying to do the right thing for most of the movie. He had a couple of mishaps, like trying to have sex with Eisenberg's girlfriend, but he was a good guy overall.
