Allyson, the dumb bitch

So she sells him out because the guy gets attached to her and thinks something is special?

I wanted to tie a knot around her neck and send her down that balcony.

This is why women are hated, they have no logic.

reply

Clearly, you didn't pay attention. Go back and review the scene where Allison and Ben talk outside the diner in Boston. She had a shot at her mother and she took it. He doesn't blame her for it. She didn't rat him out to hurt him. She did it to hurt her mother.

This is why men are hated, they have no clue.

reply

That explains it. Makes me want to tie TWO knots around her neck. Like mother like daughter.

reply

He slept with her daughter behind her back, I don't think there is any room to blame the daughter for "selling him out". He did something wrong and it came out. Don't want it to come out, don't do it.

It is what it is, Michael Douglas betrayed her mother, what else is there to say.
He deserved everything he gets. What kind of person does the kinds of thing
MD did in this movie? After a while unless you are super rich and people have
to kiss your behind you end up just like that. Why blame women for having no
logic ... you think MD character had logic? Suicidal logic? You want that around
your child? I think not.

reply

>It is what it is, Michael Douglas betrayed her mother, what else is there to say.

...that Allyson betrayed her mother? Betrayed a relationship that should have been thicker, tighter and more heartful than that between the MD character and Allyson's mother?

reply

Allyson is a troubled child.

reply

If she is a troubled child, so is Ben Kelman.

reply

Perhaps, but Ben had the time and resources to grow up, and failed, at least until he was beaten within an inch of his life.

reply

>Ben had the time and resources to grow up, and failed

You are, of course, right. Although Ben is as close to his 'second childhood' as Allyson was to her first.

But it isn't a zero-sum game.

Allyson has also had the time and resources to grow up, and elected to partake in incredibly irresponsible, spiteful behavior.

reply

She was very smart and thought she was even smarter, without realizing that doing something intelligent (cleverly sticking it to her mother) isn't always the preferable action over doing something morally right and emotionally honest. Well, I liked that little scene where Douglas' character doesn't blame her, I think he meant it and anyone who sees it more black and white should re-examine this movie filled with grey (imo).

O human race born to fly upward, wherefore at a little wind dost thou fall.

reply

As bad as it sounds, although he was in the wrong by sleeping with his girlfriends daughter, SHE was the one who let him purely to hurt her mother.... bitch

Do guys like "the thing"?
They like it better than no thing.

reply
