Kind of bugs me ...

I am definitely pro-environmentalist, maybe even radically.

BUT ... when I watched the segment on the plug-in Prius something bothered
me. That was what I think is a stupid and ridiculous claim that you can use the
energy stored in a car and feed it back to the grid in times of short supply.

Like I want to park my car, and maybe plug it in and go do something get
back to my car to go home and find out that I do not have enough energy
to make the trip because the electric company decided to tap my gas tank.

Is this absurdly stupid or am I missing something or what?

The idea that putting energy in the cars, and then building the infrastructure
and technology to suck that energy out and put it back in and out and in and
out like a capacitor just seems like it would lead to tremendous losses of
energy in resistance of wires and internal resistance in the battery ... I do not
think it makes any sense. i wonder why this strange idea is floated and why
someone does not just dump that idea as worthless?
