Why is this scheduled as a children's programme?

SIGNH is actually quite a funny programme with sharp, observational writing and very strong performers. It is in fact better than many programmes shown in the BBC comedy slot at 10pm. But why on earth is it being shown in the CBBC slot at 8:00am? The references are way above the audience watching TV at this time (unless you are a father like me about to take your kids to school). The clear difference in level is plain to see if you look at the IMDB ratings by age. What was the person who commissioned this show thinking?

I can see why it was commissioned in this slot though. Most comedy sketch shows now have to resort to the grotesque while this is "family fun" - the type which used to be broadcast in the early evenings before those slots got overrun with soaps, crap "lifestyle" shows and abysmal reality vehicles.

They said the same about Maid Marian - that it should be broadcast in the evenings - but it was juvenile humour and so is this.

To be honest, it's too good to put on the CBBC channel; it's too good just for kids alone. The comic talent of Marcus Brigstocke, David Armand, James Bachman, Justin Edwards, Marek Larwood, Anna Crilly and Mel Giedroyc are a little bit wasted on kid's TV, and kids who (I'm somewhat patronisingly assuming) don't know who they are; each of this line up can each carry a mainstream comedy TV show in their own right, and together would be comedy gold even in mainstream TV (especially in sketch show format IF they could use adult humour, good enough for a modern day rival for The Fast Show, et al). The show could fairly easily be aired on BBC Three at 7-8PM (a time appropriate for kids AND adults) without edits or changes to its current form. True, some of the jokes are a bit juvenile, but so is pretty much all of the comedy aired on BBC Three (and if Don't Scare The Hare passes for adult's TV these days, well....).

The amount of comments on this board show how wasted this show is.

I think SIGNH is great and should get a prime time slot. I love it - and not just IN MY IMAGINATION!!!!

"Hey! Ladies! That was fun!"

The third series is the weakest yet, IMO, and there have been some recurring sketches (including the title sketch) that I don't think work at all, but despite that, I'd still argue it's the best UK comedy on TV at the moment.

The fish-fingers sketch is genius. I have watched it many times and it amuses me every time. The Fearsome Vikings has me shaking my head in disbelief that they can find another take that is just the same as every other one and yet still has something unique about it - even if it's simply the fact that Sven is scared of the light sabres even when they're switched off. I wasn't amused by the Thousand Pounds Ladies the first time, but it's grown on me - you know how it's going to end but the joy is in the build-up.

Meanwhile other sketches have developed. The French exchange student is finally getting his come-uppance. Emily and Monty are still relentlessly, insufferably cheerful and baselessly optimistic, but the cracks are beginning to show as Emily nearly loses patience with her brother.

I can't get my wife to watch it regularly, but she does know that Deer Club is Tuesdays and Saturdays.
