THANK YOU!

I had the privilege of being at the SAG screening and Q&A tonight. I don't get to many SAG events but I am enriched for having been there. I had the privilege of having a general meeting with Marion Dougherty in the mid 1990s. I was fresh off the boat from New Zealand hot on the heels of the feature film, Once Were Warriors. Very naive and under a overly made-up face of bravado, I was frightened. She saw through my facade and was so very kind and generous to me. I felt like I was sitting and conversing with a caring, wise aunt. I will never forget her presence, passion, and potency of character. What a wonderful tribute you have made not only to her, but to all casting directors, and the industry at large. You have enabled Marion's awesome pioneering spirit and legacy to live on for generations to come. Tihei mauriora - I salute everyone involved in the making of this vital, vibrant, incredibly moving, and entertaining documentary, and I thank you all for the gift you have given to all who watch it!
