One kind of thing, among plenty, that really makes me laugh are little non-chalant or mundane moments mixed in to absurd or hectic, crazy situations.
For example; some guy ringing an other guys' neck, giving him a right throttling, and then he pauses comfortably for a second to take a sip of his drink (while keeping one hand on the guys' neck) right before resuming to throtte the poor guy just the same.
...A sip between throttlings. HEH-Heh-heh!

Laughing and Crying
Plus, they had an easy definition:
Comedy is something good happening to someone who does not deserve it
Tragedy is something bad happening to someone who does not deserve it

Comedy is subjective; what makes me laugh may not make anyone else laugh.
Timing is everything; a good joke, told poorly, is not funny. A bad joke, properly presented, will leave the listener in stitches.
OK?
Are you sure it wasn't:
Comedy is something bad happening to someone who does deserve it
