Question about the ending

i dont know. its not really implied. the new reporter says he gets caught 3 more times and escapes (but is finally caught for good the 4th time). so it can be assumed that he got back with the girl between that time. they seemed to be in a serious relationship, he even proposed to her. (though it did seem like he was joking)

Whether he gets the girl or not is left to the viewers to decide for themselves- an aspect I really like about film-making. I personally think he does not get the girl.
