Overweight women as sloppy and vulgar in movies

I am so sick of the tired cliché of making overweight or "fat" women vulgar and sloppy. And I'm tired of today's generation of young women thinking that being vulgar, crass, and sloppy and/or having sexy with anyone who moves is a form of feminism.

The sister made an excellent point, that today's girls watch sex and the city, and bridget jones and think they need some big "single" experience when all the characters in those movies ever did was look for a boyfriend.

As for the fat girl being sloppy, ungraceful and vulgar, SO played out. Can you put a full figured woman in a more dignified role? As a romantic lead? Something that doesn't even deal with her weight but just a regular movie? Seriously. Hollywood does the same thing over and over again.

The same shtick from Jennifer Lawerence, Rebel Wilson, Amy Schumer, and others, is boring.

The statement below is false.
The statement above is true.

I agree with that, and Rebel Wilson is just plain offensive.

Rebel Wilson is just plain hideous. Her 15 minutes are almost over.

reply

I mean maybe, but she did have the funniest parts of the film..

reply

Yes, but that's not saying much. There really weren't many funny bits.

Well said.

I agree.

How did you manage to group Jennifer Lawrence with Rebel Wilson and Amy Schumer?  She's not overweight nor plays these types of characters.

reply

To be fair Amy Schumer is a little overweight

I have NO idea where the Jennifer Lawrence comparison came from

reply

I wish they stop trying to make Rebel Wilson out to be some sex symbol. She's not except for maybe someone with a fattie fetish or a chubby chaser.

reply

Right on! I felt embarrassed for Rebel. 'Fat chicks' are not depicted as real, sexy or wanting the same thing as other women...her character is just a cliche'. So infuriating!
