wth?

he has absolutely nothing to do with this movie, they just used his name to promote it.

it happens all the time with other movies and other directors.

I've just got home from watching this movie and there was no mention of Martin Scorsese in the credits so where has that come from?.

I saw it somewhere also. It's basically a marketing device. In essence Martin has said he likes the movie. Tarantino did something similar for Hostel.

The same with the movie The Grand Master. He has absolutely nothing to do with the making of the film. Basically, he saw the film and thought it showed promise so he decided to put up the money to distribute it in North America. It's a win/win for both parties because the companies who made the movie get to use his name to market it and Scorsese profits off of a film that he invested no time or effort in (though he did back it with his money). In Europe you wont see his name attached.
