great movie but , is it realistic , i mean the diggstown part ?

where they fight 4 or 5 fights in one night??

or more??

seems grueling

would something like this get sanctioned in real life ?

diggstown lou gossett jr had to fight 10 guys in one 24 hour period ? (if i remember right ) cool ending to that movie imo

That's 4 fights in two days. And I fought two 8 man tournaments in my life, which is 3 fights in a night. Its not common anymore due to fighting being regulated by a commission

i guess its been awhile i thought it was one night

I´m not very familiar with pro martial arts events but I can tell you that the K1 World Grand Prix went on in a single day,5 fights total for the finalists I believe.
I think every major K1 event throughout the year was in a day as well, not just the main GP,though I´m not sure about that.

No you didn't, you are lying. You didn't fight Jack.

Prove it. Post a link to the fights. There would have been an online mention of even an amateur event.

Google "hooknshoot 8 man tournament" you fool. They have ran multiple same day tournament's in the last 23 years. And I have fought in two of them.

In this tournament it was 4 fights over 2 nights for the finalists. The original UFC fights were tournaments in the same vein, except that they fought the entire tournament in one evening. I think splitting it up over 2 days would be more challenging, as the lactic acid sets in in your muscles overnight. You would wake up bruised and sore and with no adrenaline whatsoever. I think they split it up in this movie to help develop the plot.

Also, nowadays fights are heavily regulated and I don't think that you would ever see a tournament like this. Also, the purse would have to be worth a whole lot more than $5 million.
