they should have hired real gay actors

I was cringing at Matt Damon having to do those scenes. At least, if it were real gay actors, those scenes wouldn;t have grossed me out as much since that is stuff they do in real life anyway. Yeah, it's acting, I know. But you still gotta makeout with another guy.ughh.

theee was no scene with making out, just regular kisses...

I don't see what the big deal is, nor do I understand how/why having Gay lead actors would make it easier for you to watch.

Respect what you have 🌌

reply

That's because the OP had no sense to it to start with. It was just a pretext for the poster to get all squirmy and derogatory about gay sex.

You might very well think that. I couldn't possibly comment.

reply

You're probably right, lol.

thought Matt Damon nailed it....he is a brilliant actor

reply

Maybe they should have got a real cannibal instead of Anthony Hopkins for Silence of the Lambs just to make it easier for you to watch.

Grow up!

reply

Last time I checked, Hopkins didnt have to eat real human flesh to play a cannibal. Two straight guys had to be making out with almost no clothes, especially established actors for what? a freaking cable movie? This was not even Brokeback mountain.

reply

Nonsense. They should've hired the best actors they could get for this and they did.
Not to mention discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation is illegal.

reply

Actually job discrimination based on sexual orientation is only illegal in certain jurisdictions in the United States.

and how does an employer know one is gay in order to discriminate. Whenever I ask this, I never receive a specific answer. No applicant offers that info. Why don't people come out and say it's because the applicant LOOKS gay? Why does honestly need to be so hidden, and rare?

Well, here's your specific answer: it's because your understanding of job discrimination law appears to be limited solely to hiring practices, which isn't the case.

Other than in a handful of states, an employer can discriminate against--or terminate--an employee for being openly gay (or even being suspected as such) with no legal recourse on the employee's part. We're not talking about an employee acting effete/butch, wearing a rainbow pin on his/her lapel, or displaying a picture of his/her significant other in their cubicle, either.

Something as minor as a slip of the tongue during water-cooler talk, or 'suspiciously' gay overlap contacts between personal and co-worker social media contacts could potentially open the door for an employer to treat an employee unfairly, based solely on their real (or perceived) sexual orientation.

reply

The 'discrimination' argument is pretty far-fetched. What straight actor would have sued the film-makers, if they HAD cast two gay men as the leads?

reply

He didn't have to do those scenes, he chose to.

______________
I am cringing at your ignorant and simpleminded comment. How do you know that Matt Damon doesn't like doing those scenes. He might just be partial to d!ck for all you know. Now that would spoil the image you have of him wouldn't it?
