Why Diss Scott?

Other threads have dissed Scott for his portrait of Liberace in his book and subsequently the movie.
However, look at the facts. No Matter what other issues Scott had or has, he feels hurt by the relationship he had with Liberace. People have a right to feel hurt, don't they?
Having only seen the film, I can't comment how close to the book it is however if the last scenes in the film are anywhere near what was in the book, Scott still loved Liberace and grieved him when he died.

Believe in people, no matter their faults. Do not always assume someone is lieing.

I was surprised by the ending. He had gotten over his hate and appreciated his time with him. I don't know if that's reality of fantasy, but it sounds like the movie remained truthful to the book.

It was a difficult relationship to figure out. I never had the impression Scott and Liberace had a relationship of love. It appeared to be strictly carnal and I supposed Scott saw in Liberace a father figure as well as someone who gave Scott a comfortable life. Regardless of what happened in the end, Scott grieved Liberace as they had been together for years as well as his sadness over Liberace's vulnerability, a shadow of the extrovert man he used to be.
