Great Cast - Good Premise - Poor Direction

A nice Se7en style premise with no happy endings and a thought provoking issue being explored with a reasonably good quality cast (Cornish being the weak link) but ultimately a film that's let down by very weak direction.

Parts of it felt like a TV movie while others felt too plodding in general. The pacing and initial set-up were poor and the whole thing felt half-hearted.

I like Dean Morgan but a bigger name in his role would have made more sense and a larger scale for the film as a whole was required. Too parochial.

The trailer clearly shows that Farrell is the killer so the scene with the model's husband instantly loses meaning.

Agree. Felt like an episode of CSI. Quality actors thrown at a poor script and worse direction. And what about the incongruous soundtrack!? Just bizarre at times. In different hands this film could have been something. Hopkins spent most of the film staring meaningfully into space perhaps wondering what on earth he was doing.

All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain. Time to die.

How about twisting the trope: the psychic is the one directing the killings by hypnotizing sociopaths and border-line psychopaths into committing the murders so he can gain fame from 'solving' the crimes.

But then we learn at the end it was the TREES all along! (What a twist!) ;D

Agreed. The direction was not good. The dialogue was also horrible. Really horrible.

Considering you're someone who posts "Lolol" and nothing else in a comment, I'm pretty sure no one should consider you an expert on dialogue.

Had such a solid cast, why was this movie such a let down...

also... should have been shot better... filmmakers are getting lazy when it comes to the photography
