***SPOILER***Question s

OK. I missed a few things, and I have neither time nor money to go back and try to figure it out. Can someone help me?

In the explosion that killed Prithvi and Sumar's American girlfriend--
1) Who set that up?
2) Who exactly was it targeted at?
3) I got that the chauffeur got out of the car, and implied he needed a bathroom break, but I didn't really see how Prithvi transfered to driving the car.
Can someone go through this whole scene?

Edited: OK so I think everyone must think I'm an idiot for asking. They go gunning for Suraj after this, even though they draw back because of discovering who he is, so they must have thought that Veerendra and he did it. However, if the movie is "completely" taken from the Godfather, as some have suggested, then there is reason to wonder if Samar is implicated. After all, his brother has just gone off the deep end on an emotional killing spree. His girlfriend is pregnant and a possible liability if she spills her guts. Despite his later grief, did Samar set the carbomb up? Anyone?

My second question probably requires familiarity with the Indian situation. When Nana Patekar's character is trying to raise funds from businessmen, they give him checks that are not what he was hoping for. "Looks like someone missed a couple of zeros" He doesn't accept the checks, but leaves the receipts which are for much more money than they offered. Can someone spell this out for me? I have some thoughts, but would appreciate your insight.

1) Who set that up?

It was set up by Suraj and probably Veerendra also knew about it.

2) Who exactly was it targeted at?

Targetted on Samar and maybe whole family I suppose. It was not fool proof and a gamble hoping that others would either go to drop the girl at airport or would be near the car atleast and would be killed.

I am not sure whether the chauffeur was of Prithvi's car or he was of the other car which actually had the bomb in it. The driver says he will be back in 2 minutes as he has to go to the toliet. But Prithvi through the side mirror sees him running away on bike. Now due to experience he realise that something is wrong and ask others not to go near the car. He runs to save Sara from the balst but both die in it. I hope it clear some things for you.

And the movie isnt completely taken from Godfather so theres absolutely no doubt that Ranbir Kapoor (Samar) wasn't involved in it. Those who are saying that its completely copied from Godfather are just some people with inferiority complex towards Indian cinema.

And about the 2nd part I dont think it meant anything much about Nana Patekar leaving receipts at the house of those people. It just showed that he didnt take their money and left the receipts because it was waste for him.

Thanks, I didn't actually miss all that much. (I didn't see the driver running away). I assumed all that you had said, at first, but then had second thoughts.

Appreciate your taking the time to answer.

If you say the movie has not been completely taken from 'The Godfather', you are only partially correct.

I for one, have seen the Godfather Trilogy, as well as 'Rajneeti', within the last week itself, and have found a disturbing number of similarities between Rajneeti and the former.

It is quite safe to say that Rajneeti is the ( as of yet ) best adaptation of The Mahabharata, with heavily borrowed concepts from the Godfather. However, I must admit it is a very good movie and the ensemble cast is simply superb, to make a movie of this calibre. The teams' vision comes shining through.

Please list the similarities
