Shredder Design 1990 Vs. 2014

Which do you prefer? Me personally, having only grown up with the 2003 series and this movie, prefer this giant metal design. I thought it looked really cool!

The design looked much better in the 1990 movie. Sometimes less is more. Pretty much everything was done way better in the original.

it is really unpractical

The stupid have one thing in common. They alter the facts to fit their views not the other way

The new design is just a robot with a ton of knives poking out everywhere.

The earlier design actually looked like a costume worn by a human being.

IMO 1990 design

Prostitute: What the *beep* are you doing?
Johnny: I'm gonna kill a bunch of people.

In terms of design, the 2014 Shredder. He looked totally unstoppable and hardcore, with all those blades and armor.

And it totally defeats the purpose of Shredder's character. He's suppose to be a skilled martial arts master, yet he's wearing a robotic suit to power himself up. The design on that thing looked like it was inspired by a pocket knife.

The 2014 design, if you put those two in a fight who do you think is going to win?

reply

1990 is definitely better, since I grew up on it.

To me, 2014 Shredder armor was just...

Too over the top.

Considering that the Shredder is simply one of the greatest shadow warriors of the foot clan turned crime boss, his 1990 design is perfect. It looks just like the comic version he is based on: A ninja with a samurai inspired helmet, bladed gauntlets and shin guards.

This 2014 design doesn't seem like anything that would belong to such a character and instead seems more suited to a rival of Ironman's.

It was way over the top and spoiled the simplicity of The Shredder, but then they had no choice considering that they did the same with the Turtles.

reply

The 2014 design is ridiculous, who could even move wearing all that crap much less fight effectively? Nobody ever gets cut fighting the Shredder either, despite the fact he has a hundred knives on each arm that he can shoot out and summon back.
