Not as bad as some people think

I've literally just finished watching the movie for the very first time. Sure it's a rip off of 'The day the earth stood still', Sure it's low budget, Sure it has pretty bad effects.

It doesn't make it a bad movie though, it has alot of suspense (you are never 100% sure if the world will end or not) it has sex appeal and it has emotion. In fact, I can think of a few scenes that nearly made me tear up (mainly because of the score, but still)

Put it this way, 'the day the earth stood still' isn't all that better, apart from its budget and well known actors.

I give this movie 7/10.

Between the repetitive score and the constant flashbacks & foreshadows of the exact same scenes, I really felt as if I was stuck in a time paradox where I was forced to live the worst five seconds of my life over and over again for all eternity.

It is in instances such as these that being able to call 911 is not a good thing.

If you were offended in any way by the preceding post, go make one yourself.

I applaud your bravery. I came here to do much the same. I also didn't think this was that bad. I enjoyed watching it. There is another post saying if anyone liked this, they would like 10,000 B.C. I do , and I did! <VBG> In fact, I just watched it yesterday morning.

There is only one movie I can remember saying anything really bad about, but for the most part, if I don't have anything good to say, ... You get the picture. I wish others would follow.

I hate that there are so many that can't wait to blast anything that isn't their favorite big budget movie. For crying out loud, not every movie is going to appeal to everyone, others should realize this basic fact.

I don''t go to their favorite movie forum and proof my intolerance of their opinions, or question their sanity because they liked it. I respect them and keep my mouth shut because when I dis a movie in one of these forums, what I'm really doing is insulting the people who enjoyed it when I didn't.

Okay, down off my soap box. <BG>

its an ok movie, but not more.

There are loads of worser movies out there anyway.

I concur. The movie wasn't bad, although I kept trying to make it that way with my haute criticism kicking in. Let's try and get this movie rolling in the cult department and see if it can't get some legs.

Colossal robots of monstrous power hover, threateningly, over the cities of Earth. Meanwhile, Shiva and Krishna arrive in semi-mortal form to test humanity. They experience archetypal humans who variously ‘get it,’ or fight them, or grow toward a view of themselves in the cosmos. That’s not a bad tale.

On the negative - I was very disappointed that the film went out of the way to avoid presenting full frontal nudity of Shiva. She's hot. Also, the the special effects are weak. Some ok action but not a lot of whiz flash bang. No flying cars or exploding buildings. The budget is very low. Very small cast.

But there are some sweet scenes; and one character moves from authority-dominated to self-directed. Finally, it’s terrific that the martinet character gets vaporized.

I gave it a 9. Not great, but memorable.

My thoughts exactly. It may be low budget but it is still a very watchable movie.
