Not any worse than 'Day the Earth Stood Still' remake

I just watched this movie and I've seen better and I have seen worse. The
movie actually is no worse than Keanu Reeves' remake of the great 1951 classic.
The acting there was really sub-par. Keanu Reeves is no Michael Renee by
a long shot. The remake of the 1951 classic was not a Blockbuster, so this
version wasn't either. Besides, the remake did not have anything as thrilling
as Sinead Mccaffery walkin around in the altogether. That put this film above
the so-called Blockbuster.

krspas2, I agree with you.
I'm more inclined to overlook shortcomings in a low budget movie than a Hollywood blockbuster anyway.
The story-line of this movie is just as good as The Day The Earth Stood Still (the recent version anyway - I haven't watched the 1950s version).
I would also agree with several other posters, in that I'd love to see more of Sinead McCafferty than just the quarter-second full-frontal shot we were treated to.
In fact, there were a few other actresses in that movie I would have loved to see full-frontal nude shots as well.
However, since that didn't happen, and the chances of that happening in any other movie are approaching zero, I just have to remain thankful for the little bit I was treated to.

BTW, did anyone notice whether Sinead was truly naked in that shot?
I couldn't be sure, but it looked as though she was wearing a flesh-coloured bikini bottom, which would make her a bit of a cheat in my opinion!

if you haven't watched the original you should. the story is sloooooow and of course the special effect are outdated, but that movie had heart.

Unfortunately I haven't seen this film, and even more unfortunately I have seen the remake ot The Day the Earth Stood Still with Keanu Reeves. That was a truly terrible film, and proof, if Hollywood needs it (which they apparently do) that you should not do a remake unless you are going to make it better than the original.

The original Day the Earth Stood Still was an absolute gem of a film, one of many absolute classic black and white films of the fifties. I would recommend it to anyone.
