I think it is pretty sad that a person has a God given talent to act, which is a sort of lying or pretending, and they confuse that talent to mean that they are brillant in other ways when it is so obvious that Val Kilmer couldn't think his way out of a one room maze. He has followed his pea brain down the path of career suicide with his latest movie picks, esp. this high school project. He makes Mickey Roarke look like a Roades Scholar.
shareWell, if you think that about him I guess you haven't seen Spartan, Felon, Columbus Day, Kiss Kiss Bang bang...to name a few...but please DO see Spartan and Felon...they are great, I could put Spartan as one of the best films I've ever seen...
He's made a lot of films in the last few years, I have a lot to catch up with...maybe that's why some of them go unnoticed...

Hi jeremiahbullfroggy...Actually, I do...I liked how the story unfolded and the way each character was developed, but I guess you could say i was being biased from the beginning by the fact that Mamet was its writer...
Many people hated that movie...many because of the fact Kilmer was in it...I normally just sit back and enjoy it, if it's memorable I'd consider it a good film...

Well, "better than The Happening" is a pretty low standard.
The acting is better than the acting in "The Happening". Val Kilmer is a much better actor than Mark Wahlberg. Eric Roberts is also pretty good.
But the story is about as crappy and non-sensical.
