It has nothing to do with environment. The main character only pretended he was concerned about "Global warming", as a challenge. It's all a game, but you have to see the movie to understand what I mean, without writing a rather detailed synopsis.
The movie isn't very good, by the way, so if you find the synopsis you might be better off.
