Disappointed in the Ending

This was a good movie, but why did it have to end like that? It was so vague and I felt cheated.

I agree but I did not get whether he died or not?

Yea i didn't care for the ending either. I thought the rest of the movie was really good.

The ending made me feel like the writer didn't really know the charachter Moses. LOL. sounds silly i know. but i felt like the Moses that we were introduced to in the begining and throughout the movie would not have confronted the situation the way he did. not with bats and what not.

good movie however. much better than i expected it to be. i have a new crush now.

He came from a violent past. He escaped that past and stopped being confrontational hence why he became the everyday black man to get away from it all. He was burying his head in the sand and the whole film was about his transition into the Moses we saw at the end. So I think that justifies his actions.

The ending was what I liked the best about this film. The shootout and the fighting and the script and the acting. Subtle, not your typical hollywood glitz and glamour. I especially liked the exchange of words between Moses and Malik.

The vagueness? I thought it was all pretty self-explanatory apart from whether he lives or dies. Though, I would assume he lived or else they would of ended the scene with him actually dying.

I agree with the person quoted (not sure who's being quoted) the ending is pretty straightforward. I would go into why but you didn't even argue back at the person's excellent points. Marketing troll? really? that's the best you can come up with? Maybe the guy/girl actually sat down and watched it. But that's too much for you to do it seems. Before you go and laugh at someone who watched the movie, maybe you should actually watch it too.

spoilers!

I thought he died. he closed his eyes and Claire called him "daddy" saying shed always remember him. she knew it too thats why she became more and more hysterial as he was fading away..

I thought of that but in a way it looked like he only relaxed when she called him daddy, and the fact that the ambulance arrived just at that same time made me think what someone mentioned upthread. The person who was quoted. Personally I think it was a bit of a copout ending it the way they did (making it pretty ambiguous) which is why I prefer to think he lived. However it could have been how you explained, and maybe they were trying to please everyone. I didn't hear the part where she said she'd always remember him. Though to think of it I did hear her say she remembered him, and asked him to sing. I had to rewind it a couple times, even considered keeping subtitles on through that whole scene so I missed a few words. Your explanation makes sense, I'm wishing they had made it more cut and dry because in my opinion it wasn't really.
