Did anyone actually like the remake?

I remember this getting good reviews and a ton of hype back when it came out in 2013, but me and all my friends went to go see it in theaters and none of us liked it. Did anyone else think it was seriously overhyped?

It is one of my all time favorite movies. I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed it.

Yes I liked it and plenty of people did as I think did pretty good at the BO. It was a little over the top with the Blood and gore but it was kind of the selling point.

I only watched it once, but enjoyed it and would watch it again.

It wasn't bad. I prefer the original.

I thought it was good, not great. There were exactly 2 lines that made me lol.

I was pleasantly surprised and personally feel like it's actually underrated. In my opinion it's one of the best remakes to date.

One of the reasons I really like it is because of the motivation behind why all the characters are going to the cabin in the first place, which is to support the protagonist detoxing. Which is further used as a plot point when she starts experiencing weird things and no one believes her because they think she's going through withdrawal symptoms.

I don't necessarily think it's as good as the original, but I think it's a damn good remake.

I own all the ED movies (and the Ash vs ED TV show box set), but this is my favourite.

Eh, I felt the remake deadites were over the top trying to sound edgy, with people saying curse words for no reason and failing really badly at making it sound natural. There was something missing from the craziness of the original. But the effects and directing were good.
