They do not do raw calf liver injections. If you saw the film before posting, you would know that. The diet is vegetarian. Nowhere in a vegetarian diet is a calf liver to be found. Let alone a raw one.
The Gerson diet is vegetable juices, and vegetables. Pretty simple. Pretty uncrazy if you ask me. The coffee enemas are simply to help the liver get rid of toxins quickly. Which is pretty necessary if you have been poisoned by chemo "treatments" before trying diet to heal from cancer.
What other "cranky nonsense" are you refering to?

Stoatmaster, don't you realize that Stephen Barrett, M.D., the ex-psychiatrist who runs Quackwatch, might be Quack himself? For example, he lists Aspartame Information Service, the leader maker of aspartame, as a reliable Web source for information about Aspartame. Can any one be able to call a company that manufactures aspartame to be considered truly RELIABLE when they're the ones who actually profit from it? Think about it.
Does it strike you as odd that Stephen Barrett happened to have received an "honorary membership in the American Dietetic Association" and an "FDA Commissioner's Special Citation Award (see http://www.quackwatch.org/10Bio/bio.html)? Does it have something to do with all of his hard work "discrediting" naturopaths? What's stopping Stephen Barrett from discrediting a medical doctor?
What do you think about the cover-up of hidden MSG? MSG is already a controversial issue which, according to independent studies and whistleblowers (see www.truthinlabeling.org, www.msgmyth.com and www.msgtruth.org), MSG is a harmful neurotoxin. If it's generally safe according to the FDA, then why is it hidden? Why doesn't the FDA respond to inquiries about why it's hidden? Why did a chemist whom I called at a laboratory say that he can't talk to me about glutamate (the harmful, functional part of MSG) and then go on to say "Thank you very very very very much for asking" before hanging up the phone?
How is NOT a cover-up given that the mainstream public isn't aware of the hidden forms of MSG and the potential health risks that the independ studies suggest?
If MSG is generally safe, then why have I not gotten a cold, a headache, a migraine, excessive sweating or stomach problems ever since I eliminated MSG in its known forms and hidden forms from my diet? Prior to my no-MSG diet, I've ALWAYS gotten a cold sometime during October or November, but not this time. Any idea why? Hmm...I wonder.
Also, why are food and drugs regulated by the same administration (the FDA) and not separately?
Please take your time to view this 60 Minutes segment about MSG from 1991: http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=599381265368100582&ei=F7n3 SPyNApnWqAPo9a0E&q=msg+%2260+minutes%22.
So, go ahead and eat as much Pringles, Doritos, McDonald's, KFC, Campbell's Soup, Subway sandwiches and Nabisco Saltines as you want. You may even drink as much Glacéau Vitamin Water, Pepsi, Coke and Tropicana Apple Juice as you want, but at least consume the above products and others while knowing all of the risks that they poses to your health given that they contain labeled and/or unlabeled MSG. Do you trust independent studies/researchers or the FDA? Would you take the health risks to consume a food or beverage that has MSG, a controversial, potentially toxic ingredient, even if it's allowed to be hidden on labels? Do you believe that the FDA is truly living up to its mission statement that it's protecting public? Decide for yourself, do the research and, most importantly, ASK QUESTIONS instead of taking everything for granted.

You say no one has been cured by the Gerson Therapy. That means you have not seen the film. Not only is the data given, but interviews with the actual patients are shown. Most of the folks interviewed in the movie, besides patients are actually real medical doctors. You should see the film before dismissing it out of hand. You remind me of the self-righteous religious zealots who ban a movie for everyone before they even see it themselves. That kind of makes folks wonder what your motive for discrediting the film and the Gerson family is. Dr. Gerson was a respected physician, not a make-believe one. He was hounded for making other doctors who had no interest in curing chronic disease look bad.
Dr. Gerson began his therapy long before dietary supplements and vitamins were available. At one time early on, before vitamin supplements were available, perhaps calf's liver was used, but no longer. You think that's dangerous? Compared to the thousands of folks who die each year by properly and improperly prescribed drugs?
You say Dr. Gerson was discredited? Are we to believe the "quackwatchers" who told us smoking was good for us? The only reason SOME cancers are declining now is because of PREVENTION, due to changes in smoking habits and diets including more organic foods. If Dr. Gerson was correct, then there should be no surprise that some cancers are declining concurrently as the popularity of organic foods skyrockets and smoking is banned in more places.
Since when is resisting poison and eating a balanced diet of mostly vegetables considered dangerous to anyone except Big Pharma? And you?
