Did anyone else notice that the UniSols loved to punch their victims in the head repeatedly.
Good movie though.
yup, it was over the top, indeed. BUT, I think it was to show how even though the new unisols were "more advanced", they were brutal as ever, as someone above me said. Very visceral to KILL a man from punching.
shareYeah, I noticed that too. Arlovski's character did it a lot, but when Van Damme's did it I was like "Woh, these guys got a thing for bludgeoning people to death?"

I think this was unnecessary but still cool.
Then again, I wonder if it was the writer, the director or the fight (or stunt) coordinator that has an affinity for multiple punches to the head.
You'd think that, if the UniSol are superior, efficient warriors, they'd use quicker methods of dispatching their enemies.
Oh, well. I guess it looks good on film so they do it.
I think, for one, it was due in part that most of the UNIsol dudes were MMA types.
Second, the extensive use of MMA-style fighting used in the movie reflected a much more efficient and brutal method of combat than prolonged karate battles. It made it seem like they didn't waste time, although the bit where the one Unisol throws down his rifle to fight hand-to-hand was kinda dumb.
