I think I've seen maybe half a dozen of this subject, Muslim family in western culture.
And I thought the ending was a bit overly melodramatic.

I was actually searching through the few threads here on the forums trying to find someone that had something to say about that ending... The movie was average until it reached that "climax" and that's when it fell flat on it's face. It's like they were going for a "Crash" moment but that wasn't in tone with the rest of the movie and it's not easy to pull off. I'm a big fan of "Gegen Die Wand" and was looking forward to this but now I'm just really disappointed. Sibel was the only good thing about this movie but it was like the director was riding the wave of her previous success. I liked to see her go all protective for the kid which makes the ending even more pointless. What the hell were they thinking??
