A few questions about this awesome series

This is such a great series. I'm on season 4 right now and I'll probably be on to season 5 before the end of the week. I have a few questions and I hope someone can answer them for me.

1. Who was really calling the shots or who had higher rank between the Gestapo and the Germans in Poland? In other words, could the Gestapo arrest and imprison a German if they thought that German committed a crime? Or did they need approval from the Germans?

2. Were the round-ups as random and arbitrary as they seemed in the series? And did Polish citizens have any recourse if one of their family members were taken?

3. Why aren't there any Jewish characters in leading roles in the series?

4. What happened to the baby Wanda was pregnant with in season 3 (she didn't know if the father was her boyfriend or the prison guard who raped her)? I'm only a few episodes into season 4 but they haven't mentioned her pregnancy or the baby at all.

5. Does anyone else have trouble distinguishing the Gestapo and the German soldiers because their uniforms look very similar? ...or am I the only one? I wouldn't be able to tell if the uniforms were different colors because I'm colorblind. So that may be the problem. lol

6. Were the Jewish people in the Warsaw ghetto aware of the mass killings at the concentration camps? I'd also like to know if the Polish underground insurgency knew about the ovens at the camps.

Thanks guys for helping me out.

1.Gestapo could do what they wanted and imprison whom they wanted. It was a secret police and opposed any resistance movement.

2. the rounds up were planned by Germans. It means a Polish citizen could go to shop to buy a bread and never come back home. Rounds up - especially in a certain period 1943-1943 - happened even several times in a week in Warsaw. Polish citizens often had recourse if one of family memebers were taken.

3.There are two leading characters in the movie who are Jewish - a Jewish girlfriend and later wife of a main character and her brother.

4.I do not remember but I think she did not gave birth to a child.

5.Gestapo had black uniforms and they had inscription SS on uniforms and skull on cap.

6. Some of Jewish people (but not many) had heard information about concentration camps but most of them at least at the beginning believed they are going not to Auschwitz but they are moved to a different place where they can live.

Yes, Polish underground knew about concentrations camps and Polish citizens also knew about them. Many people who were imprisoned in rounds up were shot or taken to Auschwitz. Remember that in Nazi concentraton camps in Poland like Auschwitz at the beginning of the war only Poles were imprisoned, later Germans imprisoned also Jews and other nations.

I hope a helped a bit.😐

Unfortunately after the end of the war not all Poles welcomed Jews back with open arms. But the betrayal of the Polish People by the Allies is not pretty either. The whole rationale for WW2 was a free Poland. But it took over forty years.
