seriously. james marsden, neil patrick harris, bette midler, fred armisen, sean hayes, michael clarke duncan.

they arn't desperate for work, were they blackmailed or something

There are cases of actors not enjoying their work.

This is a paycheck movie. These actors do voice the stupid animals, cash in their checks and move on.

Where's your proof of this? In what interviews did the actors admit to this? Oh wait, that's right. You're just assuming they didn't enjoy making the film, just because you didn't enjoy watching it. Just because it's your OPINION that a film is bad, doesn't mean that the actors didn't enjoy making the film.

um...what the...the first movie was epic...and i hope this one will be too, i dont think its very illigitimate since this will get them lots of popularity :)

Humour me. What exactly do you think qualifies as legitimate actors? Are they only legitimate actors because they are known? So if they are less known, does that mean they are not legitimate actors?

No matter who lended their voice for this films, known or not, are legitimate actors. If you get a role in a movie and get given a pay check for it, then you are a legitimate actor who has starred in a film or TV show. Whether they are well known or not is besides the point.

With that being said, well known or not, they had to get some people to star in this film, so why not some well known ones.

I mostly agree with you, however that qualifies the people in porn as actors, which I just cannot abide. Not that I have a problem with porn, I just usually skip to the sex.

I think what OP means is that anybody who acts is an actor, whether they are good or bad but legitimate actors have a certain standard which we have come to expect from them.

Anyway, back to topic, those actors took part in it because its a legitimate movie, a movie for kids nonetheless. Can't actors have some fun too?

Easy money, while this movie might not be the best thing ever made, lets face it it's goona make boatloads of money. Most kids movie make tons of money. So there you go they're in it for a nice big paycheck! Nothing wrong with that at all.
