Deep inside, does Barbara love Maricela?

Im new watchin the show & i saw a few videos on the website, i watched that epi when one of the rapists had both barbara & maricela, she seemed to care for her daughter.

Barbara had her moments of care for Maricela, but she puts herself first. Yesterday's episode showed that Barbara only cares for Santos and herself. Barbara has one of the most complexes personalities on novelas.

I don't think she loves her daughter. She kicked her out of her house when she was a baby. Anytime she has gotten close to Marisela she has done it in order to use her. I do believe she was genuinely concerned when Melendez wanted to harm Marisela because she had lived through that herself. However, I don't think it was love for her daughter, but rather the need to prevent it from happening to someone else.

I agree. I don't think she loves Marisela, but then I don't think she is capable of love.

With regard to Melendez I think she might also have been trying to avoid reliving the experience.

Now that the "novela" is over I can say that I do believe Barbara came to love Marisela. However, I can't help but feel that it was a very fragile love and that Barbara did right in leaving. She knew she had to leave, otherwise she might have ruined what she finally allowed herself to feel for her daughter.
