Remind you of something?

Anyone seen this on the Style channel?
It's like a rip-off of The Soup.

Yeah, it's funny.
I just thought they were extremely similar.

reply

that's what it is supposed to be. Style Networks version of The Soup. They have the same producers.

reply

This show is HORRID. Danielle Fishel does not have clue how to be funny.

Joel McHale and The Soup are hilarious.

reply

Yeah,right!!!!

reply

I know it's a rip-off, but I still think it's hillarious. The only reason I pay attention to pop culture anymore is so I can laugh along with the soup, lol. I love both shows.

I'm sorry, but I find the Soup to be EXTREMELY BORING. I think Joel McHale is rarely funny and the humor is so tired. I think Danielle Fishel is hilarious and The Dish is by far the better of the two.

reply

Sev, I realize everyone has their own preferences but after that statement, I could never take anything you say seriously, ever.

reply

I agree with you Sev. I find the Soup/Joel mostly boring, but Danielle is hilarious.

reply

this show is not funny.

"no roger, no rerun, no rent"

reply

How pathetic is a show that not only uses the same CONTENT of "The Soup", but uses the same "host setup / unhappy producers who laugh in the background jokes", and segment/graphic packages. So sad. Whatever happened to creative freedom and originality?

One thing is different, at least they put the host on the opposite side of the screen. Great job Style.

reply

ROTFL!!!!!!!!!

"no roger, no rerun, no rent"

HELLO PEOPLE....

This show is done by the same people as The Soup. It is geared more toward females. It is not a rip-off, just another take. I enjoy both shows.

the soup's unprofessional moments are humorous and charming. the dish on the other hand tries to mimic this and comes out just horribly.

reply

HTey just advertised this on the soup.

I have been a Soup fan for years, and The Dish is quite funny and refreshing. There is plenty of crap on TV for both Joel and Danielle to take the piss. Watching them make fun of some reality shows is the only way I can bear to watch shows like Wifeswap and Rock of Love. Plus, what is up with Denny on Grey's I can't wait to see what either show makes of that!

reply

I didn't want to like it the first time I caught a part of the dish. I think I was too stubborn because I'm a soup loyalist. However, I saw a recent episode last night and thought it was really funny. Not as good as the soup, but miles better than best week ever. Proud to say I'm a fan of both shows.

Agreed. Loved TALK SOUP and now with Joel McHale still love it with the new name. But thought "The Dish" was gonna suck.

Then I saw Danielle is the hostess.

Both her and Joel "get it". You don't take yourself seriously when you do a show like this. You make bad jokes, bad accents, bad props and costumes... You laugh at yourself, and the whole world laughs with you (which is why the 8 years of suffering known as The Dubya Uhdminuhstrashuhn resulted in a resurgent of brilliant comedy in countless genres and subgenres... the first president to make "not taking myself seriously" a way of life!)

Yeah. She tries way too hard to be like Joel McHale. It just doesn't work because she's not funny.

reply

I don't think she tries to hard to be Joel at all. I think she's a riot. I like them both.
There's a show like both of these on the sports channel...Vs. or something, I think it has one of the guys from Clean House.

I miss The Dish so much. It was so damn funny. I can hardly even watch The Soup anymore because it depresses me how much better TD was and now it's gone.
