Tape on their arm?

Does anybody know what the significance of the adidas tape on the outside of their arms were? the entire SVSM team wore it, whether it be on just one arm or both arms. was there a purpose to it? or did they just incorporate it into their "uniform"?

School/team policy (it was a Catholic school after all) - no tattoos visible.

Most leagues have rules against visible tattoos. They all must have had tattoos that needed covering.
