What the hell was this about

Just watched this and yeah..guessing this is a film you need to watch more than once to understand because nothing is concluded. i mean the ending? that creature that looks identical to the thing from res evil with the teeth that was the mute guy right serving that guy he made a deal with. but what the hell happened nothing is explained. hagen what happened to him? travis and his little brother what happened there. what happened to the girlfriend in the end. maybe I wasn't paying enough attention..

I came on here looking for the same answers.

The only thing I understood (out of the questions you asked) was that the girlfriend/wife was killed...I assume the baby was also killed at the same time? But, who's baby was it, Hagen's?

And what were the sequence of events around the GF/wife...when did she give the addict the bottle of liquid and how did she know it would send him to hell/pergatory (or whatever that place was)...when was it that she was visiting the addict for S&M sessions, when she was with Hagen or the mute bartender?

I was left with more unanswered questions than anything at the end. As a big fan of Hellraiser and Resident Evil, I did enjoy the movie overall. I just wish that things were tied up/explained better in the end (and that they either ran it in sequential order or made it more obvious as to the timeline of events).

Yeah what I basically understood was that the deaf guy turned into the weird monster when he made the deal with the man demon or whatever in hell. But..... I didn't understand but I think I might now is that the deaf guy was allowed to go back to earth to bring Hagen to hell. His soul went into the body that Travis was resurrecting. As far as Mary Ann I'm not where she ended up. Although.....it looks like her body got eaten by the baby in hell. If you pay attention it seems like that man/demon with the gas mask is actually the baby pissed off about what happened to him. He teases the deaf guy about him pretending to be his dad even though he was not biologically his dad. And the thing also makes reference to feeding on the body of his mom. He says something to the deaf guy like "come lets feed on mommy". Those are not the exact words but something like that. I watched the beginning of this a few nights ago and at the beginning we see Hagen with the thing after he is brought there. The thing says something about Hagen hearing his cries but doing nothing. This is also assuming the demon was the baby(Hagen's biological child) that died along with Mary Ann.

The scary clown doll is hiding under my bed.

Ok.. you guys are right, you do need to watch the movie twice and pay lots of attention. I just so happen to know this movie very well so I will give you some answers.

First, Elizabeth (not Mary Ann, the wife) and the tortured woman are two different characters. So Elizabeth does not know Travis at all.

Second, Elizabeth dies when Morbius strangles her and she does go to hell (although not shown) and yes, the demon feasts on her at the end. Although not as clearly stated, the baby is Hagen's and that's why the demon (baby) is so upset. He likes Morbious better for a Dad.

Third, Travis (drug addict) gets killed in hell by Morbious as a monster but his brother, since he was an innocent kid tricked by a demon, does not go to hell. Travis was fooled by Morbious to help him carry out his vengance on Hagen who stole his wife, got her pregnant and killed him.

Hope this helps!

That did not make a bit of sense and how anyone was supposed to come to those preposterous conclusions is mind boggling. I wouldn't watch this again if I were paid. Tripe.

Your commentary was spot on. I'm all for thought-provoking films but parts of it made absoulutely no sense. If the movie is intended to just piss people off out of confusion it succeeded. File this flick under "I'll never watch again."

I'm surprised. Honestly. I wasn't confused at all. The entire film made sense to me. I thought it was rather profound. Morbius' story was especially sad.

Maybe it takes someone insane or very damaged to fully understand it. I guess it says more about the viewer :-/
